SUBJECT: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ICPMS AWARDS, 2008
DEADLINE: 5 PM, May 12, 2008
Special funds are made available to UC Davis faculty and researchers through the Vice Chancellor for Research and Deans to support research using the facilities of the UC Davis Interdisciplinary Center for Plasma Mass Spectrometry (UCD-ICPMS).
Eligibility: Members of the Academic Senate and Academic Federation with P.I. status.
How to Apply: Instructions are available at http://icpms.ucdavis.edu/ICPMSAward.html
The purpose of ICPMS Award funding is to promote research using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Applications will be reviewed for soundness of the proposed research and suitability of the proposed analyses by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. For continuing proposals, accomplishments of the past year should be included and will be considered in awarding new funding.
Priority will be given to those seeking support to develop a new area of research in preparation for extramural grant proposals, projects involving students where other means of research support are limited, and new faculty. The maximum awards will be $2000 and can only be used to defray the cost of instrument time and/or training. Awards will be announced in early June and funds must be used by June 30, 2009.
Information on analytical methods available at the Center and current campus recharge rates can be found at http://icpms.ucdavis.edu. Additional information can be obtained from Joel Commisso, UCD ICPMS Laboratory Manager (jcommisso@ucdavis.edu; 4-4839).
